Izzy Touchstone is a young Atlanta artist with a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Painting (2015). She also freelances in graphic design for major companies such as Valpak of Atlanta since 2006. Her next goal will be to earn her second degree in Graphic Design.
As a painter, she works and explores in multiple mediums, such as Oils, Acrylics and most currently ink dyes (which she applies on Birch wood panels).
What ties her to her current collection is the permanent and uncontrollable quality of ink on wood. The concept relates to life– that a person can only control so much of it. They may set the path and bare their own origins (i.e. the grains of the wood), but cannot change what life will ultimately give them. Each layer imprints the piece. Each occurrence impacts a life.
