Reflections, impressions, the actions that sink deep when I breathe in the cool air of winter.
This ongoing collection ties to life and the uncontrollable nature it sets. Ink itself is very permanent and leaves impressions to the wood, similarly as events and actions overlap us in time. We may set the path but are unknown to its course; our grain is still present, but we remain layered with imprints.
This collection of work pulls from aspects of the past where pain and memory affect the body and mind. The idea of regret and consequence correlates with my process of the removal and recovery in the paintings. In that sense, like the past the image never leaves.
